Join a team with your friends in the Birmingham Public Schools family! Birmingham Patriots serve grades K-8, where flag football is for ages 6-7 and football for ages 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13. Four cheer teams of athletes ages 6-13 cheer at the football games as well as compete in the league competition.

What to know for the 2026 season!
The Patriots will play at Groves or Seaholm High School or away at OMYFA League fields. Before the first game in August, football practices are Monday through Friday, 6-8 PM. Friday practices may be shortened. After the first game, practice days and times are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 6-8 PM. These times may adjust due to daylight issues in October. Cheerleading practices are held two to three nights a week depending on team level. As cheer-off approaches, additional practices may be added.
Athletes in Birmingham Schools can register April 25 at 10am during the open registration period. Any remaining spots will become available May 16.
Practices are 6-8 PM Monday-Friday before the first game and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday after the first game.
Home games are played at either Groves or Seaholm High School. The game schedule will be released in the early summer.
